The number of women in the workforce is increasing at a faster rate than men; in fact, they will make up 48 percent of the workforce by 2010.
About 80% of them will become pregnant during their working lives. Furthermore, more workers are caring for their young kids and aging parents at the same time. These challenges have resulted in the creation of FMLA. While a great benefit for employees, FMLA has often proved to be challenging to manage for employers.
This workshop will provide an overview of FMLA and its provisions, as well as guidelines for how to manage its use effectively.

Instructor Profile:
Dr. Jarik E. Conrad, SPHR, is the president of the Conrad Consulting Group, LLC. He has broad experience across a number of industries that include transportation, retail, food and beverage, financial services, sports, chemicals, aerospace, and nonprofit organizations. He graduated with a B.A. from the University of Illinois. He also holds an M.B.A. from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University and an M.I.L.R. from the Graduate School of Industrial & Labor Relations at Cornell University.
