In other words, we're talking about ease of site navigation and employing other tools for repeat visitors!

Site navigation is the term we use to refer to a visitor moving about your site. The ease with which a visitor can navigate your site to find the information they want, to make a purchase or to contact you will have a dramatic impact on the success or lack of success of your site!

Ease of navigation benefits you in two ways:

  • The easier it is to find the information the visitor wants. the easier it is to buy from you!
  • The more satisfactory the experience, the more likely the customer will return next time they need your products or services.

At a minimum, ensure your new or existing web site accomplishes the following:

  1. Ensure site is structured in a logical format. A good tip is to build your site in the same "sequence" that a buyer makes a purchasing decision (first, your potential customer needs to know that you sell widgets, then that there are some good reasons to guy your widgets, that your widgets can be delivered in the time frame they need, at a price they are prepared to pay and finally they can "click here" to buy). Build your site so your pages appear in that order.
  2. Keep it clean and simple! A potential buyer wants to be able to see clearly and quickly - without clutter - how to logically progress throughout your site.
  3. Use navigation buttons like the ones you see on this page.
  4. Let your visitors know how to contact you at everypoint within your site that they might consider making a buying decision - just like you see our phone numbers, email address and contact page link at the bottom of every page.
  5. Offer your visitors a free drawing or samples of your product or service. Doing so gives value to visiting your site, encourages them to come back next time they need additional information and also gives you an email address to contact them in the future!   6. Offer a free promotional newsletter which gives your customers real value.
