Jungle Escape 4th Edition (Complete Kit)

A long-time favorite of customers — Jungle Escape is a fun and highly effective hands-on game that's perfect for introducing and reinforcing basic team skills.

The adventure begins when teams learn that their airplane has crash-landed in a remote jungle. To survive, each group must build an escape helicopter using spare parts, a diagram, and limited access to a completed model.

Learning Outcomes

  • Discover how teams function: Fragmented, Divergent, or Cohesive
  • Learn the group-process skills vital to effective teamwork, including communication, decision making, problem solving, and conflict resolution
  • Experience first-hand the impact of planning on group results
  • Understand the effect of individual behavior on group productivity

How It Works

This exciting simulation challenges participants to work together to complete a project under a deadline and with limited information.

Presented with a predetermined set of toy parts, teams must create a plan for construction and then build a helicopter to exact specifications. After the models are completed (approximately 30 minutes later), team members take part in a discussion about team dynamics and offer insights gained from the activity. When scores are compared, participants learn that typically the team that took the most time to plan builds the helicopter in the least amount of time.

Uses for Jungle Escape:

  • Kick off a team-building workshop or seminar
  • Introduce or reinforce basic team-building skills
  • Surface group issues or concerns that block team progress

Compendium of Icebreakers Volume 2 Connections: 125 Activities for Faultless Training - Binder/Book

Are you maximizing every opportunity to connect with participants before, during and after training? This is the key to optimizing the learning experience of every individual – and the focus of these 125 tested and proven-effective activities for trainers.

The activities are grouped under five critical points of contact trainers have with participants:

    • Making Contact Before the Workshop includes activities a trainer can do after the participants are identified or selected.
    • Saying Hello at the Beginning of the Workshop presents activities for introducing the trainer, clarifying objectives and expectations, helping participants get better acquainted and leading warm-up activities
    • Making Transitions Within the Workshop offers activities for building on what participants have learned from the workshop and one another.
    • Saying Goodbye at the End of the Workshop focuses on activities that help participants review what has been learned, develop a plan of action, celebrate and receive awards.
    • Following Up After the Workshop includes strategies for reinforcing what participants have learned and ensuring continuous learning.

Based on the principles of accelerated and adult learning, the activities have sound objectives. But they are also fun. Some utilize all the senses. Many get participants on their feet and moving around. Others encourage participants to reveal what they already know and apply what they learn.

The activities are formatted for easy use with clearly marked objectives, best occasion to use them, group size, estimated time equipment and supplies needed and materials. Many of the activities have ready-to-use handouts.

Tall Ships: Building Effective Teams (Complete Kit)

Raise your team’s effectiveness with Tall Ships, the fast-paced simulation that challenges teams to race against the clock — and others teams — to build the tallest ship mast at the lowest cost. Participants learn about and practice the 7 skills critical to effective team performance: Clarity, Capability, Collaboration, Commitment, Communication, Continuous Improvement, and Creativity.

    The Scenario

The Seven Seas Company has selected your company to collaborate with them in an attempt to win a lucrative contract for designing and building a tall ship. But your company must first demonstrate that it can successfully perform the “Seven C’s” upon which The Seven Seas Company is founded. Can your team rise to the challenge to win the deal? How It Works

Three game rounds reveal the team dynamics that impact team effectiveness. In Round 1, teams are asked to assemble the tallest ship mast possible in the least amount of time. Lessons learned from this round are discussed and applied to the Seven C’s model. Round 2 challenges teams to rethink their strategy and build yet a taller mast in the same amount of time, but at the lowest cost. Following a team performance assessment and debrief, teams make one last attempt at the task, assembling the mast according to new specifications and requirements. Finally, an action-planning phase provides teams and team members with an opportunity to improve their performance.

    Uses for Tall Ships

Perfect for both newly formed and intact teams, Tall Ships can be used as a stand-alone learning event, integrated into a larger training initiative, or adapted to address such topics as leadership, change management, quality awareness, process improvement, and safety awareness.
