Click 'n Train: Sexual Harassment - What Supervisors Need to Know PowerPoint

Recently, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) received over 13,000 charges of sexual harassment, which amounted to charges of more than $37 million in monetary benefits. According to the EEOC, employers are always responsible for sexual harassment by a supervisor that leads to a tangible employment action. If no tangible employment action occurs, employers are still responsible unless they can prove two things:

  • They took reasonable steps to prevent and correct sexual harassment, including establishing a complaint procedure for employees to follow.
  • The employee did not make a reasonable effort to complain to management or to protect himself or herself from harm.
BLR's new Click 'n Train PowerPoint® presentation will help train supervisors and managers not only to recognize what sexual harassment is, but also what to do if an employee comes to them with a complaint.

Sexual Harassment - What Supervisors Need to Know includes:

  • A fully prepared PowerPoint® presentation
Fully researched and expertly designed training meeting on this key topic
  • Reproducible handouts, quizzes, and completion certificate
Print and photocopy the handouts for concise, cost-effective tips and reminders. Plus, test for comprehension.
  • Easy-to-customize PowerPoints

Sexual Harassment: Serious Business - DVD

Four office scenarios and one plant scenario show how to stop sexual harassment in the workplace.

Free Online Preview

This sexual harassment training video explains the definition of unwelcome sexual conduct and shows the consequences of inappropriate workplace behavior.

Tina likes to talk, and the department is getting tired of overhearing her graphic phone calls as she brags about her active social life. Meanwhile, Jason is using the fax machine to send explicit cartoons. And Linda's flirtation with Stan is creating a situation that disrupts the rest of their team.

Worse yet, Ed makes it clear that Janice's job depends on "getting to know him better" (an example of quid pro quo harassment), while Saundra makes a false claim of harassment to get even with her boss for not receiving a promotion.

Teach employees:

  • Why preventing sexual harassment helps everyone.
  • How to confront harassers and tell them to stop unwelcome behavior.
  • How to respond to quid pro quo harassment.
  • The negative impacts of workplace flirtations.
  • Proper procedures for reporting and investigating complaints.
  • The consequences of false accusations.

Sexual harassment can have a serious effect on the workplace, increasing stress levels, lowering morale and productivity, and creating a hostile environment.

And false allegations can be especially damaging, with reputations ruined and jobs lost. That's why accusations of sexual harassment should never be taken lightly. It's not just a matter of violating company policy; it's also against the law.

The jury renders a stunning decision in this Brunswick, Georgia courtroom.

Arguments before the Honorable James E. Graham, U.S. District Court, Southern District of Georgia and the jury open this training video. Lawyers defend an Age Discrimination charge brought by a terminated Vice President. In cross examination the former Vice President admits a brief affair with his female assistant and asking her to handle offensive e-mail. But his attorney insists Age Discrimination was the reason for termination.

The judge's charge to the jury and narration on the law precede the jury room deliberations. What the jury found most interesting about the defendant’s actions lead to an astonishing jury conclusion. A High Price to Pay is a two part series that provides employees and management with a clear understanding of what legally constitutes sexual harassment; what to do if sexual harassment occurs; as well as the severe consequences if harassment is not dealt with swiftly and adequately.

    Sexual Harassment: A Management Briefing
This informative video dramatically demonstrates how incidents of sexual harassment including poorly handled or unresolved complaints can translate into liability exposure and staggering monitory losses to the organization as well as to individual mangers who fail to take immediate action.
