Who said you shouldn’t sweat the small stuff? What if those small things undermined morale and reduced productivity? This diversity program, Drop by Drop, demonstrates how the small slights, subtle discriminations and tiny injustices can add up to big problems in your workplace! These little negative gestures are called “micro-inequities” and they occur in organizations every day. These small communications of disrespect, prejudice and inequality aren’t overt, but they can be incredibly destructive. A poison in the workplace that isn’t delivered in a bucket, but takes its toll drop by drop. The program opens with an unhappy ending – the resignation of a frustrated employee. We then explore the workplace responsible for creating this situation. The program’s host engages and challenges the viewer with his strange perspective on our insensitive behaviors. He walks us through several examples of micro-inequities that could easily be avoided and then shares the key concepts for creating an inclusive and productive work environment: Put a stop to the disrespectful little “paper cuts” co-workers unknowingly inflict upon each other. Raise awareness and emphasize the importance of maintaining a thoughtful and respectful workplace with Drop by Drop. Key Learning Points:
Includes: A 19 minute DVD (English and Spanish versions – many also include Portuguese), comprehensive leader’s guide, PowerPoint Presentation on CD-ROM and Drop by Drop Handbook

Produced - 2007 Just one person speaking up can inspire others to do the same. What do you do if someone you care about is the target of demeaning stereotypes? What if you are being demeaned or stereotyped? How often do you speak up on behalf of respect? This new program, based on the book by Leslie Aguilar, can be used for training on Diversity & Inclusion, Communication, Teamwork and Leadership. Why is OUCH! important? Staying silent in the face of demeaning comments, stereotypes or bias allows these attitudes and behaviors to thrive. This undermines our ability to create an inclusive workplace where all employees are welcomed, treated with respect and able to do their best work. Yet, most employees and leaders who want to speak up don't know how. So, we say nothing. What Does OUCH! do? In a unique and powerful way, viewers will experience the impact of stereotypical comments, explore why people don't speak up against stereotypes and other biased behaviors, and learn six techniques for speaking up without blame or guilt. OUCH! Learning Objectives:
Program includes: 12 minute DVD or VHS video, Speaking Up Activity 5 min., OUCH! That Stereotype Hurts with vignettes 13 min., CD-ROM with Leader's Guide, Powerpoint presentation, 1 OUCH! book and 10 OUCH! reminder cards

![]() Harassment Training for Supervisors: Recognize, Respond To, and Prevent Harassment in Your Workplace From jokes that get out of hand to full-blown sexual advances and racial attacks, harassment in the workplace continues to be a huge problem for many employers. Damage awards and settlements paid by employers in harassment cases have doubled over the past 5 years – and the average U.S. jury award for these claims is a whopping $1.8 million. Your frontline supervisors are the first line of defense in protecting your organization against these claims. They should be armed with the latest information and training to head off harassment before it becomes a problem – and taking the correct actions to handle any claims that arise before they turn into official complaints and lawsuits. Even if you think and hope your supervisors are doing all they can, however, they undoubtedly have gaps in their knowledge and/or implementation. And those gaps can cost your company big. Bring your supervisors along to our May 8 audio conference on recognizing and preventing workplace harassment. They will learn the many types of harassment claims that can be filed by workers, the best ways to create a harassment-free work environment, and what they must – and must never – do when an employee complains to them about being mistreated. Meanwhile, you as an HR professional will learn how to train managers to deal with harassment issues and protect the organization against embarrassing and expensive claims. As a bonus, you can download a free set of PowerPoint slides that you can use for ongoing supervisor harassment training. You and your colleagues will learn:

![]() Produced - 1997 In 1989, a New Jersey high school faced a painful decision: one of two teachers with equal tenure and equivalent credentials—one African-American, the other Caucasian—had to be laid off. By 1995, the reverse discrimination complaint lodged by Caucasian teacher Sharon Taxman had become a national issue of great political and legal significance, leading to a surprising out-of-court settlement funded by civil rights groups. In this program, ABC News correspondent Nina Totenberg reports on that remarkable case, while anchor Cokie Roberts moderates a spirited debate between the President of the NAACP and the Director of Litigation from the Institute for Justice.
